Midnight Reading and Baking

We are all trying to make our life work. And while we don’t always know for sure when it’s working, we definitely know when it’s not.

I’m currently reading the book titled: 30 Days to Becoming a Woman of Prayer.

I bought this book a long time ago, and recently, while going through my old but new books (that I have not read yet) I stumbled upon it. It seemed like I had started reading it but stopped, after few pages, it was probably around the time I was studying and reading too many books.

When your life is working, that doesn’t mean everything is perfect. It means you are in a place of peace with God…

The first lines of chapter 1 in the book made me realise that many of us are guilty of turning to God only when we are in trouble, or in need of something. Once our prayers are answered we forget, and its business as usual. Until our life is not working again.

I’m hoping to change this behaviour and have a better relationship with God that is less transactional. I’m hoping this book will equip me and that it also inspires any of you watching this video to do the same.

Anyway, as a shift worker, I don’t have a sleeping routine as my work doesn’t allow it. So, often I find myself unable to sleep until midnight. Hence, I decided to take this opportunity to read and of course bake and eat while at it.

This time of the night is actually very quiet, and allows me to read uninterruptedly and understand the message better. There are no distractions from the phone or people. It’s also the time where the food has settled and digesting in my tummy, but I do feel hungry sometimes, and what I eat depends on the next our hours I plan to use for reading.

This week I made banana bread and the other day I made a sandwich. Very nice snack and meal.

I hope one or two people relate and get to read and relax.
