Notes about Wine & Coffee

First, let me tell you about Sherry

I met Sherry at the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business, she’s the EMBA Learning Support Manager. I was considering to study further and my mentor said to talk to her. I honestly do not remember talking to her about furthering my studies, but I remember an intimate conversation my friend and I had with her. We both talked about our life sad experiences with ease, however, Sherry did not consider them to be sad, but life as we know it. When she shared about what she was going through at the time, I remember feeling sad, but trying so much to show a brave face. She then said, “I’m not done living, God doesn’t want me yet, so I will live’. I was amazed by her strength, strong faith and sense of hope. I smiled in awe.

Man, I have never met a person like Sherry before (and I have met a lot of people in my life), she is the epitome of God’s grace. A conduit of love, respect and elegance. Unlike many people, whom change character through life changing experiences, Sherry remains the same loving person. What I learned from her, is the art of acceptance, and living life beyond any unfavourable circumstance.

I remember leaving her office full of life, as I was in my healing stages. Our conversations made me realise that I wasn’t ready to study so soon again. I left with a feeling of taking a leap of faith and to live life to the fullest, knowing that everything happens for a reason and I can succeed.

After all of that, I’ve come to know Sherry as the lover of coffee and wine. I mean, my circle of friends know I love coffee, however I’ve come to know that my love for it isn’t as much as Sherry’s. Her social media posts about coffee and wine, always make me smile. Nevertheless, Sherry’s posts in general, are about love, hope and kindness. She loves love, that makes me love and appreciate her. Her love about love is contagious. Everyone who talks about her, talks about her kindness and friendliness. For me, she is love.

I had to ask her to write something about coffee and wine, I must confess, there is no one else best suited to write about these two items in my life. I am also happy that I get to give her her  flowers while she still can smell them.

Sherry, I pray God prolongs your life and for His favour to be upon you, so you can continue to give hope to people who are lost and confounded, like I once was.

Thank you for giving me hope when I needed it the most. Thank you for supporting me in my business endeavours, you are truly amazing. I wish you more love and happiness…. xxxxx

Wine & Coffee

Sherry’s Experience with Wine

Wine is sunlight held together by water – Galileo…I have always loved wine, white wines in particular. A crisp Sauvignon Blanc or a wooded Chardonnay. Wine makes me think of beautiful vineyards with the smell of such promise to come. It is one of life’s great privileges that we live so close to the World’s most beautiful vineyards with award winning wines on offer. A day on a wine farm is a day well spent.

“……you just know that today is going to be a special day”

Coffee

Coffee…close your eyes and smell the fragrance that wafts from the kitchen. As you enter it and take a seat at the beautiful long table, the piping hot pot of coffee awaits. You pour slowly, savouring the delicate but yet strong aroma and fill your cup. The french doors are open and all the windows flung wide and you gaze across the valley at the farms below. That first sip…this is why I am alive you think…that first sip. To the side is basket of freshly baked croissants, still warm from the oven. Next to that is a platter of cheeses and fruit and you just know that today is going to be a special day.
